Girls Night @ Sticks and Sushi

My girlfriends and I headed to Sticks and Sushi on Wednesday evening and what a treat it was! We went to the Covent Garden branch and it was super busy and buzzing for a Wednesday night so make sure you take advantage of booking ahead.

The early arrivals had a couple of excellent cocktails at the bar before dinner and when the others arrived we sat down ready to feast.

Between four of us we shared two of the Upgrade platters and a portion of salted Edamame.

The platters were absolutely loaded with all different types of sushi and sashimi, we were really full by the end but kept going. There were some very good side dips also for the sushi as well as the usual wasabi and soy sauce.

After the sushi came out our sticks! I think our platter came with chicken meatballs, which were by far the best, tuna, which was also delicious and lamb chops, which were a little chewy and fatty for my liking but the flavor was good.

As an FYI the sharers are a great way of trying everything and being sociable, plus the menu is huge so would be hard to navigate if going A La Carte and wanting a variety of dishes. However, we all have good appetites and were very full, I would only order a platter between two if you are very hungry!

With two bottles of wine the bill was around £50 per head, so a little pricey but for the volume and quality of sushi, which is expensive anyway I would say this was reasonable and an excellent addition to the growing Covent Garden / Soho eating scene.
