Heston's Dinner

For my birthday last year I was treated to dinner at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. As you can imagine I was insanely excited after watching all of his TV shows and also to experience a two Michelin Starred restaurant.

Firstly a big shout out to the front of house staff, we were over an hour late as we got stuck in traffic and yet the staff were so kind and friendly and even kept us one of the best tables in a quiet corner of the restaurant by the large windows over looking the hotels grounds. Most restaurants where reservations for a Saturday night must be placed three months in advance would not have held a table for late arrivals, so thank you.

We were welcomed by such pleasant and friendly staff and even the manager came to say goodbye and Happy Birthday, we couldn't have felt more special or spoiled and certainly not an inconvenient late couple!

We had a cocktail each, which were divine and then we shared two starters; the famous meat fruit and the scallops but the meat fruit was by far the best. As I am sure you have seen online already the design was great and the taste delicious. Was a very fun way to enjoy your food. For mains we shared the prime beef for two, it was melt in the mouth and the mushroom ketchup was excellent and again fun!

We were too full for dessert but the boy had kindly ordered me a birthday cake, complete with popping candy! It was a great way to end the evening. I would love to come back with room for dessert next time or maybe one of the ice creams they make in front of guests using a chemical reaction, it's all very impressive!

With two bottles of water and service the bill was a little over £200, so this is not a cheap experience, however, the food is delicious, the restaurant is large, beautiful and clean with loads going on from open kitchens to the large wine cellar on display but most importantly the food comes with Heston's theatrical flair, which makes this dining experience completely unique.

Take your significant other here, they will be impressed.
